Today I Carried A Memory

I, along with many others, took time to pause and show respect for this memory. We viewed this memory and enjoyed the times past that brought smiles to our faces. We sang songs of praise that brought the moment in time to a stop so that we were forced to realize the reality of the situation. We prayed for the memory, we spoke of the life of the memory, we were encouraged by the words given on behalf of this memory. People lined up to pay their respects to this memory and those who had the closest relationship were the last to join this line of respectful observance of this memory.

After all had left the room, it was time that myself and five other men would carry this memory to the ride that would be taken to a lasting place of memorialization. After we arrived, I and the other five men, gathered around the memory to carry it to the final resting place. I took hold and carried this memory to the elevated stand were the final words would be said. Loved ones gathered for one last time where they would personally be this close to the physical memory they have known.

Today I carried a memory that will last for a lifetime. This memory will never be forgotten. The times of good and bad will forever be in our minds. Although the housing of this memory was laid to rest, the memory is alive and well. We will never see the face of this memory in person, but it is stamped in our minds where we can recall the face at any time.

The memory I carried today has given us a time to rejoice. This is a time that we are grateful that we can be uplifted because of the life this memory lived on this earth. (1 Timothy 6:18-19 18) Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share, 19 storing up or themselves a good foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.) This life lived as a Christian. This life had made the decision to be baptized in the water of baptism for the remission of their sins. Through this action they had passed with the hope that their soul would have an eternal life in Heaven. It is with great joy that we look forward to seeing this memory in Heaven. But not everyone that memorialized that memory will have this opportunity to be in this eternal place of peace. (Matthew 25:46 And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”) A place that is full of joy and where there is no pain or sadness.

I carried a memory today with great anticipation in knowing that they will receive the gift of God, that is an eternal life in Heaven and we will meet again someday. (Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.) -Kemuel Camp

GOSPEL MEETINGS
April 4-9, 2021 – StoneRidge! – Mickey Galloway

We must accept a little disappointment, but we must never lose infinite hope.

Do you see difficulties in every opportunity, or opportunities in every difficulty?

If it were not for hopes, the heart would break.
